Conditioning, Cooling & Stabilizing — Stable Pellets, Higher Durability
BIG WIN conditioning, cooling and stabilizing systems work together to control moisture and temperature after pelleting. From feed conditioner to counterflow cooler and pellet stabilizer, we help you achieve higher pellet durability (PDI), lower fines and safer storage for poultry, livestock and aqua feed.
Why Conditioning, Cooling & Stabilizing Matter
Better pellet durability, less fines and safer storage for your finished feed.
Proper conditioning and post-treatment increase PDI, reduce fines and improve feed intake.
Cool and stabilize pellets close to ambient temperature and safe storage moisture.
Gentle counterflow cooling and stabilizing reduce cracks and nutrient loss.
Stable pellets mean less rework and energy waste in recycling fines.
Single conditioner or multi-stage with stabilizer for high-fat / aqua feeds.
Designed to fit under pellet mill discharge and before packing/bulk silos.
Conditioning, Cooling & Stabilizing Product Line
Combine feed conditioner, counterflow cooler and pellet stabilizer for a complete post-pelleting section.
Feed Conditioner
High-efficiency conditioner for uniform steam and liquid addition before pelleting. Volume and shaft design ensure proper retention time and mixing for better starch gelatinization and pellet durability.
SKLN1.0 Counterflow Feed Pellet Cooler
Compact counterflow cooler for pellets from the pellet mill. Counter-current air flow cools pellets gently from 70–90°C down near ambient, reducing cracking and ensuring safe storage moisture.
SWDP Series Feed Pellet Stabilizer
Post-conditioner / stabilizer for high-fat or aqua feed pellets. Provides extra retention time after cooling for better fat absorption and pellet strength before packing or bulk loading.
*Capacity depends on pellet size, type and moisture.

System Comparison & Selection Guide
See when to use conditioner only, cooler only, or a full conditioner–cooler–stabilizer setup.
≤5 t/h and basic poultry feed? Conditioner + SKLN1.0 cooler is usually enough. ≥8 t/h or hot climate? Bigger cooler and more air volume.
Standard poultry/livestock feed: conditioner + cooler. High-fat, aqua or sinking fish feed: add SWDP stabilizer.
Need PDI > 90% and very low fines? Choose stronger conditioning and stabilizing plus proper cooler sizing.
Conditioner size and cooler capacity should match your pellet mill and future expansion plan.

| Typical Capacity (t/h) | Matches pellet mill | 3–5* | 3–15** |
| Best For | Improving PDI, kill germs | Cooling pellets to safe temp | High-fat / aqua pellets |
| Key Benefits | Better starch gelatinization | Less cracks and fines | Higher PDI and fat absorption |
| Indicative Price* | [USD 3,000–8,000] | [USD 8,000–15,000] | [USD 10,000–25,000] |
*Actual cooler capacity depends on pellet size and moisture. **Stabilizer can be sized for larger lines and multiple pellet mills.
Typical Conditioning, Cooling & Stabilizing Layout
Arranged directly around the pellet mill discharge, this section fits into existing lines or new SZLH plants.
Conditioner sits on top of pellet mill for gravity feeding. SKLN counterflow cooler is installed under the pellet mill with bucket elevator and rotary distributor if needed. SWDP stabilizer is placed after cooler/screener, before packing or bulk silos. Dust and air systems are integrated for clean operation.
Core Components Around Pellet Mill
Feed Conditioner with steam and liquid addition, ensuring stable mash quality entering pellet mill.
SKLN counterflow cooler with discharge gate and level sensor, plus cooler air system and cyclone.
SWDP stabilizer or holding bin gives pellets extra time for fat absorption and moisture balancing.
Vibrating screener after cooler/stabilizer to remove fines and return them to the pelleting system.
Packing machines or bulk bins under the stabilizer discharge, depending on your delivery mode.

Cost Estimation for Conditioning, Cooling & Stabilizing
Indicative 2025 pricing for different system combinations and capacities.
Conditioner + Cooler (3–5 t/h): ~USD 15,000–30,000
Conditioner + Cooler (8–10 t/h): ~USD 25,000–45,000
Conditioner + Cooler + Stabilizer (5–8 t/h): ~USD 30,000–60,000
Conditioner + Cooler + Stabilizer (10–15 t/h): ~USD 45,000–80,000
Final price depends on climate, feed type, materials and local electrical standard.
Typical Cost Breakdown
| Item | Share of Total | Typical Range (USD) | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conditioner | 15–25% | $3,000–10,000 | Feed Conditioner with drive, steam and liquid connections |
| Counterflow Cooler | 35–45% | $8,000–30,000 | SKLN cooler, discharge system, level sensor |
| Stabilizer | 20–30% | $10,000–30,000 | SWDP stabilizer with drive and support |
| Fans & Cyclones | 10–15% | $3,000–10,000 | Cooling fan, airlock, cyclone and ducting |
| Electrical & Installation | 10–15% | $3,000–10,000 | Motors, wiring, control and on-site guidance |
Shipping and import duties are extra and depend on your country or port.
Use existing fans or support structure, start with conditioner+cooler, add stabilizer later.
Better conditioning and stabilizing often bring quick returns through lower fines.
1.5–3 years via reduced fines, improved pellet quality and better storage stability.
Pellet quality gains and fines reduction usually offset investment in a short time.
